blogging at 5.20am in the morning. stayed up to pick out 150 pictures from those i took at sandy's store today. no easy task, seeing as i took like, 300 pictures. had to take out the bad ones, the blurry ones, and the downright stupid ones. once i took out a few self-shots in the mirror, there was left those that i wanted, but sadly i had to cut them down to 150. was torn between a few.

oh, in case you didn't know what the heck i was talking about, it's my final assignment for Fundamentals of Digital Photography. take 150 pictures to tell a story with, and out of those 150 choose 10-20 to put together in a slideshow with music. my first two ideas for stories got rejected by kheng li. don't really blame him though, since i myself can see now that it wasn't all that great. but it kinda got my mood down for the day, cause i had sacrificed a few hours of sleep to do it, and fatigue plus self-pity don't make a good combination. so i thought about maybe following my dad to work at the construction site, but scraped the idea. then thought about staying over at james' house for one or two days to take some pictures to tell the story of a krean family fitting in in singapore, but that was again scrapped. apparently his whole family is busy.

got abit discouraged after that. first i had no camera, second i had no subject. but i decided to trust God. don't get me wrong, i still worried, i still got slightly depressed, but i guess somehow or rather God's hand would come in. so i was walking with my cell group towards the coffeeshop after my cell, lo and behold, my eyes landed on sandy. asked her if i could take pictures of her in her store, and she agreed, so that was one problem solved. there was still the camera left, though.
i asked around the cell, but no one had an SLR camera. but jackson somehow managed to convince his friend to lend it to me, so i went home slightly comforted. next day i woke up early and headed over to bugis to meet jackson's friend, and he handed me his camera. let me tell you something first; i've been using the consumer camera all along, meaning it's nothing fancy, just like the normal digital cameras you see around everywhere, just that it had some features that are needed in my module that other cameras didn't have. so here i was, expecting a small camera, but no, the one jackson's friend had was a full-fledged DSLR camera, one of those, big, black, long and large round thing sticking out that lets you adjust the zoom, with capabilities way above its consumer counterpart, and comes with (although i didn't use them) an external flash and fish eye lens, the por-fash-er-nal kind, of camera! praise God! if you look at it carefully, you can tell that God is never early nor late, but always just in time, whenever you need Him the most. needless to say, i had fun with the camera.

min came over to help me out to, by pretending to be a customer so that i could take pictures of her without worrying whether the customer would be scared off or not. oh, i have some pictured of her which she might not like me to possess, one in particular making her look like she's been drunk for 20 years straight, but i'm a nice friend, i won't post it up, but post this picture instead. i will however, keep as many copies of that picture as i humanly and technologically can, in my laptop, my desktop, my thumb drive, my phone memory card, my brother's phone memory card, the digital camera's memory card, the external hard drive, etc, etc, just in case.

the picture in the middle is of sandy and i. she's the owner of the store. kudos to her for letting me take "some" pictures of her in her store. much appreciated :)

and guys, seriously, i'm not cheaply advertising her store, but it sells VERY VERY nice clothes, especially the jumpers. go check out her store site: http://www.sanstreet.com.sg

her shop was also featured in U-weekly, where JJ Lin aka my brother (lin jun jie, lin jun yu, get it? oh, in case you don't know, that's how my name is spelled in chinese) got himself a shirt and a cap, i think. it's the issure with karen mok on the cover, just flip around and you'll find it. i bought a top from the store :)

alright, gonna run now, prepare to go for service, no sleep for me. cya.
