Monday (3/7):
went to watch Silent Hill with edward, kok, james, wei jian, zilah, nani and yuting... the movie was ok, not that good, but not that bad either, at least to me... the rest seemed kinda lost... guess i have henzy to thank for that, for lending me Silent Hill 3 to play :p
after that we went to KFC for dinner, with zilah and yuting pangseh-ing us. halfway through, edward called umesh (or the other way round, not sure which) and apparently something happened which displeased edward, and he started getting pissed at umesh. so after dinner we decided to make a few prank calls to him.
i love edward's call. he changed his voice to a funny voice and said to umesh, "hello, just now you disturb my friend right?.....(umesh speaks)........just now, 7 o'clock, 6 o'clock, 5 o'clock, you call him............i don't know the number start with 9..." hahaha so funny... after that i think umesh was about to hang up, so he said, " you wait, you wait, i say you wait that means you wait...my supervisor want to speak with you."
after that he handed me the phone, and i said, "er, hello, ah, i am from the zoo ah... we are looking for a giraffe, very important to us. you live around bukit gombak right? thats where we lost our giraffe." while i was talking he kept saying i got the wrong number, until in the end he hung up. haha, it was more fun then watching the movie, even though it lasted such a short time. after that we headed back home.
Tuesday:
had my chinese oral on tuesday, and it was a total disaster. there were many words in the passage that i didn't know (except one, piao. which is the same word as the jay chou song, piao yi. now who said jay chou couldn't help your exams?). i made a major screw up at one particular word, can't remember what, but when i reached it my mind was blank. i could have just skipped the word, but at the moment i panicked and wasted alot of time on it, and even asked the examiner what word it was, which instantly killed my oral. the freaking examiner could have just told me what it was, instead of asking me to skip it, since it may help me should i choose to retake o lvl chinese later this year.
then came the conversation part. the question was something like this:
"even with so many upgrades and facilities added to the libraries, there are less and less people going to libraries nowadays. give your views."
ask me that in english and i could easily say many many many many things, but in chinese.... it's not like i stoned there, not knowing what to say. the reason for me stoning is because i had no idea how to translate the word from english to chinese. like the word "mystery". i kept thinking about how to say it. they asked, "what kind of books do you think young readers read nowadays?" and the first thing that came to me was mystery (cause of CSI, hahaha), and i kept thinking, mystery, whats mystery in chinese? mystery... then they asked, "what kind of books do you like to read?" mystery, whats mystery in chinese? mystery...
so all in all, i pretty much screwed up my oral. pray that with the listening compre my marks may be pulled up abit more.
Wednesday:
went to Ngee Ann Polytechnic for the open house or something...quite interesting, overall. the place was nice, maybe better than SP. i think if i can, i'll be going to NP and taking digital media, but the sad thing is, we didn't go to the school of film and media studies!!! ah!!!
the part about the trip i liked best was probably the liquid nitrogen part. henzy was seating beside me, and we joked about what if the guy handling the tank of liquid nitrogen accidentally released the nozzle the wrong way. we would have a frozen lab tech . haha
also, the person leading us (joyce) was kinda chio, so we had some eye candy (seemed to be very rare in NP the day we came).
the thing about it is, you have to wait 38.5 minutes for 61 to come...
Saturday:
went to service.. there was this guest speaker, Rev. Dr. Robb Thompson, who came to speak with us, but before that there was this guy frim zimbabwe, i think, whom he brought along. he came onto the stage to sing, and he asked for volunteers, guys and girls. since min and i were seated right at the front, by the side of the stage, the usher spotted us easily. very convenient, one guy one girl. so he asked us to go up to the stage. min thought it was embarassing, but then again, how embarassing can it be when you have more than 10 other people onstage doing the same thing? the guy sang and danced, while teaching us the moves..haha. unfortunately (or fortunately) no one we knew saw or recognised us..haha
the message was also great, he talked about relationships and how to find people who will help you into the future.
well, there we go, 4 days in one post. bye

And through it all, the rise and fall...
