well, looks like i finally got the cam back after all. for people with slow loading time, welcome to internet hell.
i'll be nice, and do a long post so you can all wait for the pics to load without feeling so frustrated and start slashing your (or other people's ) wrists.
yusof ishak grad night 2006. kinda disappointing, not what i expected, but, ah well, you get to see a different side of your friends on that night. i went over to yuting's house at around 5 to meet up with the rest. i thought only kok, sharon and yuting would be there. imagine my surprise when i saw james, huda, chingru and weijian too.
i changed into my clothes, did some last minute adjustments to my hair, and the company left around 5:30. i'm not sure what time we arrived, but when we were there, it didn't seem like many people had arrived yet, so we slacked at a sofa on one side of the reception room (at least i think that was the reception room...). pretty soon, other 4e2 people arrived and a few minutes later the couch was packed with 4e2 people only. the opposite sofa consisted mainly of 4e3 people, not that i cared. haha, just kidding.
we were told to register, so we went to the booth, signed our names, and took a book with what we assumed would be the cover of this year's teen companion, and also a lucky draw ticket. can't remember what my number was. guess from that sentence you know i didn't win anything.
went in to the big room outside the function room, which i assume would be the waiting area. saw like, 3 booths set up. one hair coulouring, one air brush tattoo, and one guy which sketches your face. not on your face, but on a paper, never mind, i'll show you later on. edward, kok and i think sharon went to get the tattoo, and after that the 4e2 people went over to the artist's booth. only people from our class managed to get our portraits, the rest just stand around waiting for the celebration to start.
when it finally started, all of us went to our tables. mine had wj, james, edward, kok, sharon, yuting, ching ru, kartik, sue-e and me in it. the entertainment that night was far from what i would call entertaining. the band's that performing might have actually sounded good, but, once again, P.A. sucks. the DJ acted so cool when it started, but he looks like he doesn't know what he's doing. the music from the instruments were turned on so loud you can barely hear the singer. guess that's the kind of DJ you get for paying $65 for your grad night.
the food, overall, not that satisfying. the first course was ok, but the second one, fish, tasted weird. the fish wasn't even fresh. but at least it wasn't a wedding kind of food. shark's fin, steamed fish... you get the drift.
the skit started out ok, slightly entertaining, but after a while you get sick of that woman's voice being blasted so loudly (again i say, P.A. sucks). edward and i left halfway for the toilet, and we never returned. at least till the skit was almost over. we were outside taking pictures among ourselves. within minutes, there wasn't a single person from 4e2 still watching the show. wonder what the people thought when they saw whole tables stand up and leave.
then came the lucky draw. long story short, no one from our class won. guess we really are united. haha.
min actually went all the way to the final draw. i prayed for her and, guess what, God is good.
after the mc said goodbye,i started feeling sad. only like, 2 people know why, i think. was hardly acknowledged. well at least now i have some idea of something.
left with a bunch of people, which consisted of the people from yuting's house, plus nani, edward, hafiez, fahmy and haziq. not sure if i left anyone out. went touring singapore. at least that was what it felt like. we walked a freaking long way, and cabbed even further. spent like, $6 on cab fare, and when you consider that it was shared by 3 or 4 people per cab, it's quite alot. damn the midnight charges.
soon the numbers dwindled, and somewhere somehow, we ended up at wj house. we as in sharon, wj, edward, fahmy, hafiez, haziq and me. watched 'see no evil' at his house. loved the way kane died. disgusting, yet, seeing as he's the villain, oddly funny.
left at 6:15am. everyone cabbed home, as for me, the infamous miser, i sat at the bus stop. after about 5 minutes i turned around from my seat to stare at the bus chart behind me. realised that 106 and 77 wouldn't be arriving anytime before 20 minutes later, so i started walking. got home at about 6:45 to 7. was so tired that when my dad called, i almost screamed at him while on the bus. when i'm tired i don't even know what i'm doing. ah well, guess that concludes the pst about grad night. if your pics haven't loaded yet, screw you. :p
sorry if some of the pics are abit dark. they looked bright enough on my cam...
the four of us all got our self portraits done. we were like the first four who signed up for this. haha.
